East Anglia, 1584. When a young woman goes into labour a group of women, led by the local midwife, guide her through the trials of labour. But as they celebrate the safe arrival of new life, a greater danger arrives at the door.
The tour will feature screenings, Q&As, and live folk music in cinemas, museums, bookshops, and galleries across the region. Sparking conversation on women’s history, solidarity and resistance, the film reclaims the untold stories of so-called ‘witches’—midwives, healers, and women of knowledge and power.
