Love is Free
14’ | Digital
“Love is Free” is a triptych telling the story of one woman’s relationship with love and how it has been shaped by her relationship with her eccentric father.
We meet Niamh for the first time when she’s 10 years old and discovers her father is openly seeing another woman. She begs him to stop, but he dismisses her with an intellectual speech about free love. In her 20s, she tries to navigate her own love life, but struggles to trust and open up. Finally, we see Niamh in her 40s. She has recently become a mother and is pushed to revisit her own childhood.
The film exists in brief moments between love and pain. It portrays the complexities of love and breaking family patterns.
